The announcement followed a meeting between Rizwana and German Ambassador to Bangladesh Achim Tröster at her office, according to an official statement.

Rizwana highlighted that the partnership will also involve small ethnic minorities, women, and youth, fostering a multi-stakeholder approach.

She expressed gratitude to the ambassador for Germany's ongoing support in environmental and climate-related issues, stressing the need for enhanced international cooperation to tackle global climate challenges and the importance of sustainable forest management.

Ambassador Tröster reaffirmed Germany's commitment to supporting Bangladesh in its battle against climate change, commending the government’s environmental protection efforts. He also highlighted Germany’s expertise in renewable energy and offered technical assistance in Bangladesh's green energy projects.

The meeting also covered topics such as strengthening bilateral cooperation on environmental protection, river cleaning projects, and climate change mitigation, as well as potential collaboration on sustainable development and green technology adoption.

The discussion concluded with both parties agreeing to explore further avenues for collaboration, particularly in technology transfer and environmental sustainability initiatives.
