Chief Adviser’s Fund Donates Tk 100 Crore to July Shaheed Foundation

The July Martyrs' Memorial Foundation officially commenced its activities today with a Tk 100 crore grant from the Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund.
Md Nahid Islam, Adviser for Information and Broadcasting and Office Secretary of the Foundation, announced at a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy this evening that the foundation began its work with this significant financial support.
The fund will be used to assist the families of martyrs and those injured during the student-led mass uprising. A one-time grant will be allocated to the martyrs' families, with the specific amount to be determined at a meeting of the foundation’s seven-member governing body tomorrow, Islam added.
Financial aid will also be provided to those injured in the uprising, based on the severity of their injuries. Additionally, a monthly allowance will be given to the families of the victims.
Islam emphasised that while the Tk 100 crore is intended for immediate financial support, other government initiatives will continue to assist the victims' families and injured individuals.
He appealed for further donations to ensure continued financial support and treatment for the injured.
Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho, the General Secretary of the Foundation and brother of the deceased student protester Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdho, stated, "The Tk 100 crore cheque we received today is crucial for providing treatment to those critically injured during the movement."
In response to questions, Islam revealed that approximately 20,000 people were injured and about 800 were killed during the student-led uprising. The foundation has so far contacted the families of around 700 martyrs.
