Bangladesh approves export of 3,000 tonnes of hilsa to India

The Bangladeshi government has authorised the export of 3,000 metric tonnes of hilsa fish to India for the upcoming Durga Puja, according to a statement from the Ministry of Commerce on Friday.

Exporting companies have been directed to secure necessary permits from the ministry's relevant department by 12:00 pm on 24th September.

Earlier this year, the government had considered halting hilsa exports to India in order to maintain sufficient supply in the domestic market.
