Gold Price Rises Again in Bangladesh Within a Day

The price of gold in the domestic market has increased once again within a single day. The price of 22-carat gold has been raised by 3,044 BDT per bhori, setting the new price at 138,708 BDT per bhori, the highest in the nation's history.

This new price will take effect from Thursday, 26th September.

This information was released in a press statement signed by Masudur Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Jewellers Association's (BAJUS) Pricing and Monitoring Committee, on Wednesday evening, 25th September.

The statement mentioned that the price of refined gold has risen in the local market. Taking into account the overall situation, a new price has been set for gold.

Previously, on 24th September, BAJUS had last adjusted the gold price, increasing it by 2,613 BDT per bhori, setting the price of 22-carat gold at 135,664 BDT per bhori. In addition, the price for 21-carat gold was set at 129,505 BDT per bhori, 18-carat gold at 110,995 BDT per bhori, and traditional gold at 91,038 BDT per bhori. These prices took effect from 25th September.

It is worth noting that so far this year, the gold price in the domestic market has been adjusted 41 times, with 25 increases and 16 decreases. In 2023, the gold price was adjusted 29 times.

Despite the rise in gold prices, the price of silver remains unchanged. Currently, 22-carat silver is sold at 2,100 BDT per bhori, 21-carat at 2,006 BDT per bhori, 18-carat at 1,715 BDT per bhori, and traditional silver at 1,283 BDT per bhori.
